Registration for the 2020/2021 year has begun!!
We hope this finds you well and your family safe and healthy!
You have the option of “Home School” or “In Person” but at least for the Fall of 2020 all “In Person” classes will be virtual. To facilitate this we are changing curriculum to an online format using My Catholic Faith Delivered (www.mycatholicfaithdelivered.com) and we are very excited about it! It’s an online version of the Faith and Life Curriculum from Ignatius Press. I am in the process of setting up “classes” for each grade level and will be meeting with catechists this week. We will be using a “flipped classroom” model for the Fall, where the kids do the lesson prior to their meeting and the catechists will be reinforcing and extending the lessons through their online meetings.
I understand that your young people are probably tired of virtual classes so my recommendation is that the classes only “meet” a couple of times a month. The beauty of MCFD is that each child will have their own login that is tied to your, the parent, e-mail. You can login at any time and check your child’s progress and assessments to see what they have learned. The catechists will be able to access their assessments as well so they will know how to reinforce the learning. I am also putting together a calendar so you will know which lessons are happening each week so that if we’re able to return in January everyone will be in the same place.
At this time there is not an online option for Pre-K and Kindergarten. If you would like to home school for these grades we will provide you with books.
The Registration Form is available in the Documents section or down below. If you complete a paper form you can drop it and a payment off at the office thru the slot in the door. If you complete the online form you can also make payments (full or installments) through Faith Direct on the Online Giving page of the website. We recognize that some families may be experiencing financial difficulties and we don’t want anyone to not participate due to financial issues; so if your family needs financial assistance PLEASE do not hesitate to contact me. My cell # is 817-781-7036 or you can reach me through my church e-mail ycrumly@mbs.church. Due to reduced staffing capacity in the office I am working from home several days a week.

The Church recognizes that parents are the first, and best teachers of their children. The Faith Formation programs, offered at Most Blessed Sacrament for children, are meant to give support and structure to the formation that happens at home. The "domestic church" ---the home--- provides a real place in which a child can learn to live his/her faith, as well as understand it. Our goal is to help children and families connect their faith with their lived experience, reflecting especially on their personal stories, in the light of the Gospel.
Classroom-based Faith Formation groups average 15-20 children, with two adults (or an adult, and older teens), per room. Children learn doctrine through the use of a workbook, enhanced by a strong focus on prayer, Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching, and the stewardship of time, talent and treasure.
Parents are encouraged to enroll their children in our Faith Formation program every year that they are in school. This way the students can continue to grow in their faith as they mature throughout their teen years.

For those who are in 10th grade or above who are desiring to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation, they will attend the weekly sessions on Sundays with the High School and there will be additional classes once a month for the Sacrament of Confirmation. For more information on Confirmation please visit the page here.
