All volunteers of the Diocese of Fort Worth are required to participate in the Safe Environment Program.
This Saturday, April 4th, we are assisting Catholic Charities by hosting a food drive. They are having an event in Fort Worth from 9:00 until noon. We will be at Most Blessed Sacrament from 9:00am to 11:00am collecting donations. This is a drive thru event. We will unload anything you bring. Please be aware that we will be keeping a small portion of the donations to serve the people of north Arlington from our food pantry, per Bishop Olson's request, but the majority of the donations will be going to Fort Worth. You can also donate online at https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/ccfw-covid-relief
They can accept online donations and e-gift cards. They really need gift cards for Wal-Mart and Target.
Errands: If you are willing to help run errands to the grocery store, pick up medications, or even make phone calls to do a welfare check, we need you! Jack Heizelman and Karen Donnelly are coordinating this effort. They can be reached at helpingatmbs@gmail.com or 817-507-9906. Assistance with Food:
If you or someone you know is in need of assistance with some groceries, we have a small food pantry to help those in need. If you need assistance or would like to make a donation of non-perishables or funds, please contact Yvette Crumly at ycrumly@mbs.church or 817-781-7036 (call or text). Donations and assistance are by appointment only.
Numerous volunteers are needed to staff this program. You may volunteer to help as a crew leader/assistant, with music, decorations, crafts, activities, Bible Adventure, Imagination Station, outreach, snacks, and much, much more. We have a nursery for the younger children of our volunteers.
Vacation Bible School takes place in early summer at Most Blessed Sacrament for children, ages 3 years through Grade 5. This year's program will be held from June 16 - June 20 (9:00AM - Noon, each day).
By diocesan regulation, all volunteers must be cleared to work with children. This includes having a Criminal Background Check Clearance on file, having signed the Code of Conduct Agreement Form, as well as having attended the required "Keeping Children Safe" training/retraining, or taken the online Armatus retraining, as required (Initial training is good for 3 years; retraining provides additional 3-year increments of "active" eligibility).
For more information, please contact Becky Lucas, Director of Religious Education/VBS at 817-460-2751 or blucas@mbs.chruch.
Volunteer Prayer Leaders & Aides are needed for the Children's Liturgy of the Word during the 10:00AM Sunday Mass throughout the school year This program is geared toward children, ages 5 - 8 years (Kindergarten through 2nd grade). The children dismiss from the Sunday Lirtury through the invitation of the Catechist, and process to a classroom, where they hear the Sunday readings in words they can understand. They return to the assembly after reciting the Creed. If you feel drawn to this important ministry, please contact Becky Lucas, DRE, at 817-460-2751 or at blucas@mbs.church.
