Most Blessed Sacrament Church held its annual Parish Lenten Mission March 2 - March 5. This year's Mission was led by Fr. Roc O'Connor, a Jesuit Priest stationed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In addition to his 40 years as a Priest, Fr. Roc is also a published author, composer, and musician who, with his four colleagues, the St. Louis Jesuits, have published over 350 songs for Catholics to sing at Mass since 1974. The Most Blessed Sacrament parish combined adult and youth choirs under the leadership of Michele Grim and Sallie Magallanez led two new pieces by Fr. Roc during the evening mission to deepen the prayer of those gathered. [All Shall Be Well will be published this summer by Oregon Catholic Press] The mission began with daily Mass in the Chapel, followed by the morning session presentation and refreshments in the Parish Hall. The evening mission session was held in the Sanctuary, again followed by refreshments and fellowship in the Parish Hall. Fr. O'Connor was an excellent leader and speaker and invited our participation by having several parishioners read parts of the PowerPoint presentation and inviting responses from all to the questions provided. Fr. Roc used his study of Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52 / I Want to See, 23rd Publications) as a means to explore our common and particular blindness about our attitudes and motives, naming this place as a location in which to encounter Christ the Lord. It was a very inspirational week. .
