On Thursday, October 12, 2017 Most Blessed Sacrament Church hosted the United Nations Pilgrim Statue from the World Apostolate of Fatima to honor the 100th Anniversary of the appearance of Our Lady of Fatima to three children, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. Besides Mass at 8:30 AM, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and a Rosary in English, there was also a Vietnamese Rosary at 11:00 AM and a Spanish Rosary at noon. The custodian of the Statue, Judy Studer, held the relics of Saint Francisco and Saint Jacinta for 5 hours as people lined up for prayers and to touch their religious items to the reliquary. It was a very blessed event! The statue is named the "United Nations" Statue because it was first brought to the US from Portugal in 1952 and placed in the Chapel of the United Nations where people prayed for an end to the Korean War. The statue has since been traveling all over the world with a custodian and it returned to the UN on May 12, 2017.
