Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick's Cathedral Saturday, April 16 welcoming several Instituted Acolytes from the Fort Worth Diocese including two new Instituted Acolytes to MBS. From the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (link below), Instituted Acolytes help prepare the vessels (chalices and patens) for the Mass and can serve as a Eucharistic Minister if needed. Acolytes are responsible for making sure there is no consecrated host or precious blood (wine) left from any chalice or paten after Mass and properly cleaned and any crumbs or wine left properly deposited in the working sacristy or consumed and the vessels washed prior to the next scheduled Mass.
