We're so glad you're here!  Welcome to our information page for the families of children who seek to prepare for, and celebrate, their First Communions with us.  This is a most joyous moment on your child's ongoing faith journey, and we're delighted to work with you in making it a truly memorable experience. 

To help you get started, please first familiarize yourself with the following Sacramental Preparation Guidelines for this parish:  At Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, First Reconciliation/Eucharist preparation is a two-year process, defined as: 
 

• YEAR 1 (Pre-Communion Prep Period) - Entering at the earliest point (as a Grade 1 school student), this year begins with participation in our Children's Faith Formation Program, or as a student of a local Catholic School. The duration of YEAR 1 is the typical 9-month school/faith formation learning year.

 

• YEAR 2 (Following Parallel Tracks:  Parent/Child Sacramental Prep Sessions/ Children's Faith Formation - 2nd Year)  - A child entering his/her consecutive, second year of Faith Formation, and who is in the 2nd Grade of school (usually age 7 or 8 years old), may begin preparation, on a parallel track, accompanied by his/her parent(s), for the celebration of First Reconciliation/First Eucharist. Typically, Reconciliation is celebrated in early December of YEAR 2, and First Eucharist in April/May of YEAR 2.

 
We understand that some children, for various reasons, will need to prepare for First Reconciliation/First Eucharist at an older age, and higher grade level.  If this is the case with your child, please contact our Religious Education Department  so that we can discuss options, and assist you in formulating the preparation plan for your child.
